Meet our moose

Hilda
4 years old
Hilda is a special moose with a bit unpredictable behavior. She is a bit crazy but can also be sweet when she decides to. She is a very muscular lady and has a blue dot in her eye.

Molly
8 years old
Molly is a diva moose, as she is the most elegant and picky female we have. She prefers her potatoes completely round and has a rare gene that can resolve in grey moose calves some years.

Helga
11 years old
Helga is the boss. There is no discussion about that and everyone knows that she is in charge with her high intelligence plus patrolling and protection behavior. She is also our biggest cuddle moose.

Ludwig ll
13 years old
Ludwig (Ludde) is our sweetest and oldest moose. He reminds of a grandpa and is very gentle and you feel his caring personality. Ludde is a gentle giant with a unique trust in humans.

Nilla
2 years old
Nilla is a young teenage moose and without saying too much about teenagers they have to test limits all the time. Naughty Nilla is also funny and likes a good neck massage – but only when she decides it.

Zlatan
5 years old
Zlatan is living in the shadow of his competitor, Ludwig. Zlatan loves cameras and will strike a pose when he gets enough attention. His father was starring in a movie so he has star genes.

Moosen
9 months old
Moosen is our calf from 2020 with a rough start. She was rejected by her mother and to make sure she survived we adopted her. Moosen is the cutest moose in the world but it is tough to be a moose mother.
About our moose
Our job is taking care of these amazing animals that all are individuals with different needs and preferences. Our moose are tame and friendly towards humans but they are still wild animals with instincts, which we respect and try our best to fulfill and support every day. Our moose mission is that all moose have a natural and dignified life. When a moose passes away due to sickness or age it is very devastating for us. Moose parks also need to exchange animals from time to time to avoid inbreeding. The moose described here are our current ones but sometimes we have to sell or buy new ones – so follow our moose journey!

Äilert (R.I.P)
15 years old
Äilert was a beloved moose that unfortunately is no longer with us due to his high age. He was a very big moose and starred in the Swedish movie “Gräns” where he voluntarily stood still for his 5 min. of fame.

Moose across generations
Our oldest moose, Ludwig, has now seen two generations of moose keepers
Ludwig is one of the moose that have been born in our park and raised by first father and now son. Our moose keeper Noak has known Ludwig for his entire life and watched him grow from newborn calf to the amazing moose that he is today. Ludwig is so comfortable and trusting around humans and, especially small children, that is a joy to interact with him. Ludwig happily follows Noak every morning when he enters the reserve and finds each moose, check up on them and whistle them forward for breakfast. Ludwig always comes, in his slow pace of course, like the most loyal and loving dog.

Meet and greet our moose
We look forward to meeting you – and so does our moose!
Our moose enjoy human interaction because we always respect them, their nature and limits. All our moose have the option of participating in moose feedings or simply choosing to relax if that is what they prefer. We value our animals and their well being over everything in our park and when a moose feels under the weather we always contact our specialized moose veterinarian and follow the advice closely. The staff and all our moose welcomes you to a beautiful nature experience.
Our moose during 2020 mating season
Have you ever seen moose in heat? We have captured a rare moment on top of the mountain where Nilla and Helga are fighting over Ludwig’s newly dug rut pit (pee hole). Helga is the lucky winner as usual and gives Ludwig a kiss at the end.
Our moose during a cold winter
In this little slow motion video you can meet Helga, Hilda and Zlatan during a heavy snow fall. You can see the details of their movements and how majestic the moose really are!
